Last weekend we hosted a baby shower for Ryan's best friend Wanda. One of the things Wanda wanted for her shower was a Sundae bar. We purchased most of the toppings but I wanted to make the strawberry syrup. It's nice to put in a personal touch whenever you can. We also made Chicken Taquitos to be served along side the Walking Tacos, (recipe coming soon). It was a great party filled with love and I will be posting photos soon.
This syrup is super easy to make and has only three ingredients! Make some with your kids. Let them do all of the measuring.
1 C Water
1 Cup Sugar
1 LB Fresh or Frozen Strawberries
Combine sugar and water in saucepan.
Bring to boil, stirring occasionally until sugar has melted.
Add the strawberries to the simple syrup and continue to boil.
Use whisk or potato masher to crush the berries.
Use a canning funnel to pour strawberry syrup into a quart size mason jar.
Refrigerate until use.
Serve over pancakes, waffles or ice cream!
