I have had the honor of working with IMUSA for the last 5 years. IMUSA makes kitchen products that make your homemade Hispanic foods taste better! IMUSA has been in business for 80 years so they've had plenty of time to make great products!
This year I got to work with the Cloth Tortilla Warmer and the 9 inch Saute Pan. I have been craving Taquitos and IMUSA sent me the perfect tools for this yummy treat.
I poached two chicken breasts in chicken broth seasoned with garlic, cilantro and lime. You can also shred some chicken from a rotisserie chicken. Whatever works for you!
1 TBSP Olive Oil
2 Green Onions, Sliced
1/4 C Cilantro, Chopped*
2 Garlic Cloves, Minced
2 C Shredded Chicken
1 TSP Cumin
1 TSP Oregano
Salt & Pepper
1 C Sharp Cheddar, Shredded**
15 - 20 Corn Tortillas, Warmed
1/2 C Corn Oil for Frying
Preheat a medium Saute Pan over medium heat.
Add Olive Oil.
Saute green onions,Cilantro, Oregano and Garlic.
Add Chicken and combine. Mix in Cumin and salt & pepper to taste. Remove from heat.
Place tortillas in warmer and microwave for 45 seconds.
Be careful, they will be very hot! Warm tortillas roll better than cold tortillas.
Preheat Oil in IMUSA 9 Inch Saute Pan.
1Place 1 TBSP of chicken filling on bottom edge of tortilla.
Roll tortilla and secure with toothpick.
Fry until brown on each side. Approximately 4 minutes per side.
Serve and enjoy!
*If you don't like cilantro you can use flat leaf parsley as a substitute.
** Any cheese is fine. I just like Cheddar!
