Marinated Flat Iron Steaks


Being on a limited income means I have become very frugal when it comes to buying meat. I want the most bang for my buck. This means it either has to be VERY inexpensive for one meal or else provide my family with more than one meal. If you've been reading my blog for a while then you already know that I love the clearance meat aisle and visit it in every store I go to. We had to do a Walmart run the over day and I found packages of two Flat Iron Steaks for under $5.00. SCORE!

2 Flat Iron Steaks
2 Cups Red Wine (I used Two Buck Chuck Zinfandel)
2 TBSP Worcestershire Sauce
1 TBSP Granulated Garlic
1 TSP Kosher Salt
1/2 TSP Black Pepper


Place all ingredients into a zip top bag and place in refrigerator for 4 hours. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before cook time and let sit on counter. Remove steaks from bag and pat dry with paper towel. Heat frying pan with 1 TSP olive oil. Once oil is hot cook steaks 5 to 6 minutes per side. Steaks should be served rare.
