Summer has FINALLY come to South Dakota! We had temps in the 90's this week. This is my favorite time of year (except for the intense heat). I love having warm weather because that means it's time to barbecue! Now, I don't want to slave in the kitchen or over a hot grill all day, so I try to come up with recipes that taste great but don't require a lot of prep time.
I think I have found a delicious recipe that your family will want again and again over this summer and the coming summers. It became an instant classic at my house!
2 Cans Pinto Beans
4 Bacon Slices, Cooked & Chopped
1/2 Red Onion, Chopped
1/2 Sweet Red Pepper, Chopped
1/2 Green Pepper, Chopped
1 Garlic Clove, Crushed
1 TBSP Olive Oil
1 1/2 C KC Masterpiece Original BBQ Sauce
Saute red pepper, green pepper and onion in olive oil until soft. Add garlic and saute for one more minute. Combine remaining ingredients and heat through until warm. Serve hot.
