Gluten Free Almond Butter Truffle Brownies

I tasted almond butter for the first time last week. To say that I have become addicted to it would be an understatement! As I sat there eating it with a spoon I pondered all of the delicious things that I could make with it.

What are the Negative Consequences of Early and Forced Marriage?

This is a sponsored post for

Did you know that 14 million girls under the age of 18 are married every year? That is 27 girls every minute.

In certain countries such as Chad, Mali, Niger, Guinea and Bangladesh, the rate of early and forced marriage is 60 percent and over. Also, in South Asia the rate of child brides is 46 percent and in Sub-Saharan Africa is 38 percent. Early or forced marriage usually takes place in situations where there is a culture of gender inequality. In these cultures, women and girls occupy a lower status in the society and they are denied many rights and their ability to play an equal role. It is also prevalent in societies that are in poverty, because a young girl is thought to be an economic burden on her family and her marriage benefits the family both economically and socially.

New Home New Yard #DigIn

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Home Depot

Moving into our new apartment has been an incredible experience. We have more space. We actually have enough room to have more than 1 guest over at a time! The grounds of our community are gorgeous and we live in the very foothills of the Black Hills. It is gorgeous. I feel at peace here. The best part of all of this is having a small but incredible yard that I can plant whatever I want in as well as establish my own little outdoor entertaining area. This has been such an exciting experience for me and I enjoy every day in our new home.

Gardening My Way #DigIn

This picture was taken early this spring. As you can see I have mostly rocks but there are plants interspersed throughout. I was so excited to find out what was already growing and now I need to decide what I want to add to it.

Charcoal or Gas? #DigIn

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Home Depot.

I love grilling and I have owned a LOT of grills in my life. You name it, I have used it, from a tiny little hibachi (which I think was my favorite) to charcoal kettle grills, propane gas grills and even a natural gas grill.
