SodaStream Review & Giveaway!

SodaStream Review Giveaway

Grandma Juice is giving away a SodaStream and she wants my readers to have a chance to win! Read on!

Goin' Green & Savin' Green SodaStream Review Giveaway
By now, I'm sure you've heard the name, SodaStream. You've probably even seen it in a local store or 2 right? Why haven't you bought it? We saw it, in fact, we see it all over! We were hesitant to buy it because let's face it, Soda drinkers are a picky bunch! We have our favorite and we stick with it. We're loyal to 'our brand'. And, we're silly. We're wasting money, we're throwing away all these bottles and cans, we're breaking our backs lugging heavy cases out of the car. Silly!

I'm so happy the folks over at SodaStream sent us the Genesis SodaStream and we were able to see first hand just how silly we had been. A few years ago, we cut down on how much Pop (my Midwest roots poking out there) we drink because it's so sugary and really expensive with a houseful of kids. This would have been a super alternative to the begging and whining back then! With this baby, we an make a liter for about .25! And, compared to 'that leading carbonated beverage brand that we can't name' rather than 41 grams of sugar and 150 calories, we can now enjoy the same exact thing but only have 8 grams of sugar and 35 calories! Sweet, right? Ethan thought it was some special occasion when we said it was Pizza & Pop night when we broke open the box!
SodaStream Review Giveaway
And, he was just a wee bit more than excited to get to help make it too! It's really very easy. You screw the carbonation canister in place. Next, fill the bottle with cold water and screw that in place to; then press the button and wait a few seconds until 'BUZZ'... done! Add your favorite flavoring and you're good to go! There's a flavor for everyone and if you didn't see it made right in your own home, you'd never know the difference. The only thing I did notice is the 'Energy' variety is slightly different then an actual Redbull. It tastes exactly the same but what it's missing is all the really harmful ingredients that give me that super jolt. It does contain the caffeine, just leaves out the garbage that I shouldn't have anyways. I'm working on adjusting to that!
The sparkling water is really good too! Summer in the Vegas desert can be brutal. We can't keep enough in the house at times it seems. SodaStream has all-natural, unsweetened flavor essences for making refreshing, lightly flavored sparkling water. MyWater flavor essences are available in Orange, Berry and Lemon-Lime. I prefer the Lemon-Lime just as cold as it can be without being considered an ice cube!
See how silly it is not to have one yet? You can check out these hot spots for everything and anything SodaStream:

Pet Fusion Review & Giveaway

I love my spoiled kitty. And she is SPOILED! So when I saw this oh so very cool cat lounger I had to have it for my little princess, Molly! A little about PetFusion:

At PetFusion, our ultimate goal is to fuse your world with your pets. Most pet product companies are focused solely on the solution for the pet need, but we see the bigger picture... your home is about combining a wide range of interests and functions, and our pet products' value proposition is delivering effective solutions at an affordable price, with a premium style.

Beyond aesthetics, we are determined to surpass the quality of our competitors products through research, testing, and a diligent interest in the happiness of your pets (and ours). We view online communities as one of the best sources of improving our products, and we aim to take advantage of that by always looking for ways to connect with you and learn more about your pets.
The PetFusion lounger is not JUST a lounger, it is a scratcher and a groomer as well.  Molly loves to use it to sharpen her nails (all the better to attack me with) and she likes to sleep on it as well as roll around on it. When she rolls on it the lounger catches those loose hairs and I am now seeing less cat hair on my furniture.

I really wanted to get some video of Molly on her new lounger but every time I would start recording her she would stop what she was doing. Molly will allow pictures but not video and definitely NO autographs so don't even ask!
PetFusion wants to give one of my readers the chance to spoil their cat too. Enter to win your own lounger.

Check out the PetFusion web site.

Win it!

Orgreenic Review & Giveaway

Have you seen the Orgreenic commercials? I have wanted to try this cookware out from the moment that I saw the commercial for the very first time. I was ecstatic when I got the chance! I received the Orgreenic 10 inch saute pan to review. It's very sturdy but it's also very lightweight. I like that. Having arthritis makes it difficult for me to lift heavy cookware so this is perfect for me. A little about Orgreenic:
As you saw on TV, Orgreenic lets you cook healthy food safely and quickly! Because of its super hard, durable all natural ceramic coating, Orgreenic sears in the juices and flavor of your food without releasing toxic gases. And, you don't need to add high calorie oils and butter! Best of all, absolutely nothing sticks to it! Just run the sauté pan under water and it wipes clean!
It's true! I made a cheesy omelet for dinner and all I had to do was wipe it clean when I was done. The melted cheese didn't stick to the Orgreenic pan like it does in my other pans. This sold me! Orgreenic has a whole line of cookware that you can purchase.

Buy Orgreenic online.

Visit the Orgreenic YouTube Channel.

Win it! Orgreenic wants one of my readers to win a 10 inch saute pan to see for yourself how great their product is. Enter below!

The Better Chip Review & Giveaway!

I ran across these chips while I was at the grocery store a few weeks ago and I was intrigued. The package said they were all natural and gluten free so I wrote to the company and requested to review their product. I am so happy they said yes because these chips are incredible! A little about The Better Chip:
Made from double corn masa, 40% fresh veggies and enhanced with a smidgen of sea salt or natural seasoning for a better tastingand better dipping chip. We understand, not everyone appreciates better taste.
Unfortunately for artificial ingredient lovers, we only use natural ingredients. No preservatives. No gluten. Nothing genetically modified. And no cholesterol. Simply better for you.
They come in 4 flavors; Red Pepper, Sweet Onion, Jalapeno and Fresh Corn. My favorite is the Red Pepper. These chips are so full of flavor and they are good for you! I just had a snack consisting of Guacamole and Red Pepper chips and it was so yummy! I can't tell you how happy I am that I found these. The Better Chip has found their biggest fan in me!

The Better Chip would like to make you a fan as well. They are giving a gift bag (similar to the one below) to one of my readers. Enter below and Good Luck!

Lemon Curd by Homa Poursagari Review & Giveaway

Lemon Curd is a love story between the righteous and opinionated Anna Lisa Gibson and her arrogant British officemate, Neil Scott Whittaker. He can have any woman he desires but Anna Lisa's honesty and down to earth personality makes him fall in love with her. Except that he doesn't want to give up his fiancée and she doesn't want to have an affair with a soon to be married man. Yet romance is only part of this story. From the streets of Los Angeles to the streets of London, Lemon Curd depicts the millennium lifestyle - Women's position in the business world, the workaholic and multitasking attitude of our society and the difficulty of balancing family and work life while trying to make a difference in the lives of the people around us.

My Thoughts: I dove right into this book. The characters and story line drew me in and kept me there. I fell in love with Neil and I wish he was real! This is one of those books that is hard to put down so plan on reading until you are finished! Definitely a must read.

About the author:
Homa Pourasgari resides in Los Angeles, California. She received a degree in Business from Loyola Marymount University, after which she left to live in Paris for one year and attended the University of Sorbonne, focusing on literature. Multilingual, she has been traveling since the age of 5 and has experienced many different cultures. Homa has worked in various industries such as marketing, retail, banking, accounting and fitness but has always returned to her true love – writing. She is currently working on a new book. I tried the Arroz Con Coco which is a wonderful Coconut Rice Mix. It's lovely as a side dish nutty with plump raisins, but you can also make Rice Pudding with it!

Caribbean Coconut Rice Pudding
1 pkg. Nueva Cocina Coconut Raisin Rice (follow package cooking directions)
1/4 cup Maple Syrup
1 Egg
1 tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
1 tsp. Cinnamon Powder
1 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
1 cup Heavy Cream
Mix all of the above ingredients and pour into a 9″ greased baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for
30 minutes. Serve warm.
Optional: Top each serving with 1tsp. of Maple Syrup and/or shredded coconut
But wait, there's more! I also tried the Taco Fresco Seasoning. I mixed it into ground beef and made some yummy tacos just BURSTING with flavor.

And then there is the award winning Caldo Gallego a wonderful white bean soup that is great for lunch or dinner.

Excerpt: Hunter's Rise by Shiloh Walker

Snippet (warning... Toronto is something of a smart-ass)

Not the ideal place for a fight. He'd done it before and managed to avoid human casualties, but he suspected that Sylvia James was a different breed from what he was used to. Ferals fought to live, so they could kill—by nature, most of them weren't always clearheaded. Sylvia, like him, was a trained killer. Shewould be clearheaded. It would make a difference.

He hunted the ferals.

She hunted for money.

In the end, he'd win, because he was stronger.

But he didn't want to have to fight her. He wanted to have sex with her—down and dirty sex, maybe up against a wall, in the light so he could watch her. Then on a bed, her body under his, or over . . . his hands tangled in that dark, silken hair.

"You know, most men would at least bother to introduce themselves before the guy starts picturing the woman naked," she drawled, coming to a stop eighteen inches away.

Toronto smirked. "That's bullshit. We see a woman, we frequently picture them naked. We mess with the names when we want to actually think about getting them in bed. Some of us, at least." He skimmed a look over her body, taking in the sleek muscles, the powerhouse curves. Then he focused on her face again, smiled slowly. "So. What's your name?"

Review: Rise Bar

During my never ending search for gluten free snacks I stumbled across the Rise Bar.  A little about Rise:

Rise was created to fill a real need—to give people very specific bars, with different formulations, for various times of day. After all, your body needs a different sort of fuel first thing in the morning than it needs mid-afternoon. And your workout demands something else all-together. So give your body what it needs, whenever it needs it. With Rise.
Rise Bar offers Breakfast Bars, Energy Bars and Protein Bars. My favorite was the Macadamia Pineapple Breakfast Bar but a close second was the Cherry Almond Energy. The bars are chewy and full of flavor, sweet (from the fruit) but not overwhelmingly sweet. I found the bars to be very filling and the best part is that they are manufactured in a gluten free facility.

Review: Brothers All Natural Fruit Crisps

I had never heard of a fruit crisp (except for the kind you bake) prior to trying Brothers All Natural Fruit Crisps. What is a fruit crisp? It is fresh fruit that has been sliced and freeze dried. Think of it as a fruit cookie. These were a huge hit. I gave some to my son to take to work with him and his response was, "Tell them that these are the sh**!" Eli loves the apple!

The fruit crisps come in many flavors; Fuji Apple, Peach, Strawberry Banana, Apple Cinnamon, and Asian Pear just to name a few! These are great as a snack or as part of a healthy breakfast. I am going to try baking with them as soon as I fix my oven (I accidentally melted the knob when we made cheesecake).

Blog Makeover Giveaway!

My friend Brandi is giving away another blog makeover! I know there was a lot of interest in the last one. Check her out. Not only does she do a great job on blogs, but her prices are incredibly reasonable.

Gluten Free Brownie Chocolate Chip Cheesecake

Ryan found this incredibly yummy recipe for a Brownie Cheesecake but it's not gluten free! So we made some gluten free brownies and made this cheesecake. Scrumptious!

Gluten Free Brownies:

1/2 C Butter, melted
1 C Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/3 C Cocoa
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 C Gluten Free All Purpose Flour (we used Namaste)

Mix together Flour, Cocoa, Salt, and Baking Powder. In a separate bowl combine the melted butter, sugar and vanilla. Then add eggs to the sugar mixture. Add the Flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until combined. Spread batter into a springform pan that has been greased (bottom of pan only) bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

While brownie is baking assemble your cheesecake batter.

3 8 oz Pkgs Cream Cheese
1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
3 eggs
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 C Mini Chocolate Chips

Beat cream cheese in mixer until fluffy. Add remaining ingredients and mix until combined.

Once Brownie is done baking remove from oven and lower temperature to 300 degrees. Let Brownie cool for about 10-15 minutes. Smooth Cheesecake Batter over brownie and sprinkle a few more chips over the top. Bake for 50 minutes or until set. Cool Cheesecake before removing from springform pan. Enjoy!
