I was very close to my grandmother. When my mother moved us from Philadelphia to Chicago I was heartbroken because it meant leaving my grandmother behind. She was such an important part of my life. My grandmother came to this country from Russia when she was 5 years old. Her parents spoke no English when they arrived so the customs agents gave my grandmother a new birthday, December 25th. It was a big joke and they did this to many Jews coming to America. She never told me this, I didn't find out until I started researching Russian Jewish Immigrants.
My grandmother loved sending presents to us. I guess I got that from her. I love sending presents as well. As soon as I had a job of my own I began sending gift baskets to her for her birthday every year. She is gone and I miss her very much. I miss sending her gift baskets but I still love looking at them and finding the perfect basket for friends of mine that live out of state.
I recently discovered Gift Baskets Plus. They have an amazing selection of gift baskets that are perfect for any and every occasion. Here are some of my favorites.
