I love Sweet Italian Sausage and I also love Burgers so I thought, why not combine them? So I did! And I have to say it was juicy and delicious and has definitely become something that I will make again and again. I hope your family loves it as much as my family does. This recipes makes 8 1/4 LB burgers. These would also be great as sliders!
1 LB Sweet Italian Sausage
1 LB 80/20 Ground Beef
1/4 C Grated Parmesan
1/4 C Shredded Mozzarella
8 Slices of Provolone
1/2 Green Pepper
1/2 Red Onion
Olive Oil
Mix together sausage, ground beef, Parmesan and Mozzarella. Form into 1/4 LB patties. Heat up frying pan with about a TBSP of olive oil. Place patties into frying pan (I did 4 at a time). While patties are cooking slice onions and peppers. Cook patties approximately 8 minutes per side. Flip patties and add onions & peppers. Once burgers are done add provolone to tops of burgers. Remove pan from heat and cover while cheese melts. I served these on toasted gluten free English Muffins.
