Mushrooms have got to be one of my most favorite foods (after popcorn of course!). My friend Wendy and her husband Joe live on a farm in upstate New York and one of the things they do is cultivate mushrooms. Their business is called Blue Oyster Cultivation ( I LOVE the name!). They sell a kit that allows you to cultivate your own oyster mushrooms at home.
How beautiful are these pictures? Well, Blue Oyster Cultivation currently has a Kickstarter Campaign going on. What is Kickstarter you ask? It is a web site where you can seek funding to kickstart a project. Wendy and Joe want to publish a field guide to mushroom hunting. Unfortunately publishing a book costs money so we are asking you to help out. Any amount will do. For those donating $20.00 or more there are some pretty awesome benefits:
Donate $20 or more and receive an autographed copy of the book.
Donate $40 or more and receive an autographed copy of the book and a 1/2 ounce each of dried oyster and dried shitake mushrooms.
