I was bullied when I was a kid. Nothing was ever done about it. Back then you lived through it and got on with your life. Back then kids weren't killing themselves at the alarming rate that they are now. With all the new technology and the internet bullying has become an epidemic. Our children's lives are on the line here. What can we as parents do?
I think it is far past time that we team up with our teachers, our schools, our neighbors and our communities. This has to stop! Bullying Prevention must happen in our homes and our classrooms. Children learn what they live. If they live in a home where it is ok to demean and degrade then they learn that this behavior is ok. If these same kids are in a classroom with too many students and not enough attention being given then bullying is allowed to blossom.
Classroom Management offers tools for teachers to take back control of their classrooms. They offer guides for parents as well. They even have information on cyber bullying which has also grown to epidemic proportions. When did we as a whole become such a mean society? When did we stop caring about people's feelings? When did it become ok to trash each other? Join me in the fight against bullying!
