Break In

About 10 years ago I was home by myself because the kids were at sleepovers. Some time after midnight I heard glass breaking in my son's room. Then I heard tapping on my daughter's window. Then someone started shaking the doorknob trying to get in. I quickly dialed 911. While I was on the phone with the dispatcher someone started banging on the door. With the phone cradled between my head and shoulder and my very large hunting knife in my hand I opened the door, brandished my knife and started screaming at the guy to leave. The police arrived about 7 minutes later. That was the LONGEST 7 minutes of my life!  It turns out that this man had tried to rob a gas station and shattered the windows in the gas station. He was cut pretty badly and there was a trail of blood from the gas station to my house. Blood was smeared on the walls outside, on the windows and all over my front door. They were finally able to arrest him by following the trail of blood!

I can't tell you how terrified I was. I did not sleep at all that night and called in to work the next day. I wish Homesecurityfamily.com had been an option for me at the time. I would definitely have used the service. The police would have been notified and at the house a lot sooner!
