There are tons of suggestions on how to get motivated to exercise. Since my daughter just started an exercise program I thought it would be a great idea to list some of those suggestions here!
Team up with a friend. If you and a friend are in it together then you are accountable to each other. It is easier to get and stay motivated when you are in it together instead of alone.
Plan activities that are fun and will keep you interested. Doing the same thing every day can become boring and monotonous. Watch an exercise video one day, power walk the next. How about mall walking? Combine walking and shopping into one trip!
Set small goals for yourself and reward yourself for meeting them. Instead of committing yourself to losing X amount of weight by this date set short term goals that are more easily attainable. Celebrate your first pound lost. Did you go down a size? Treat yourself to a new outfit!
Do you feel like there is no time to exercise? Take a walk around your building at work. Do stretching exercises while you are sitting at your desk. Meet up with friends and plan an exercise/movie session. Cheer each other on and stay motivated!
