Pack a Snack #AbbottCFK #CBias

Last week I told you about my January Simple Service Project for the Champions for Kids sponsored by Abbot Nutrition. I chose the Backpack Program that is run by Feeding South Dakota. The Backpack Program helps to feed almost 1400 children in the Rapid City area each weekend. Each Friday, the kids are sent home from school with a backpack full of food to help them get through the weekend.

I wanted to choose things that would taste good, be easy to prepare and still be nutritious. I went to Walmart very early in the morning to do my shopping! The early bird avoids the huge crowds. Since Abbot Nutrition is sponsoring this service project I wanted to make sure that I included some of their products as well. What a great choice these are too!

Both the Pediasure and the Zone Perfect bars are great tasting and packed full of nutrition needed by active kids.

All of my purchases were made keeping the backpack in mind. The food must be easy to prepare and fit into a backpack.

I hope that I have inspired you to get involved in a Simple Service Project in your community. Alone it is hard to make a difference. Together we can change the world!
