Giving Back to those that Serve

I know that most of you are either smack dab in the middle of holiday shopping or getting ready to do some holiday shopping.  The members of our Military do so much for us every day, how about saying thank you this year? There are many ways to help out and I have a few of my personal favorites here.

Books for Soldiers links up people who are interested in providing books with members of the military who would really love to have a book.

Books-A-Million has a books for troops program. They provide discounted books and ship them to troops around the world weekly.

The USO has a Holiday Box Program that sends goody boxes to troops stationed around the world. They also provide numerous support services through their Families of the Fallen Support Program..

The Wounded Warrior Project offers support programs for injured service members. This is a list of programs that they offer.

NAWS of Tulsa (The Native American Warriors Society) sends packages to Native American service members that are currently serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.

The National Military Family Association has numerous programs to help out military families.

This is just a small sampling of programs out there that will help you say thank you to our troops. I hope you consider these while doing your budget for holiday shopping.
